SPRING!!!

In honor of Spring and all the birds that have decided to visit my front yard (to the delight of my cat) I made this card. The flower is created by punching out 3 scallop circles and folding them back and forth so that the paper becomes soft and begins to separate. Once it starts to separate, you peel apart the card stock so that one circle now becomes two. The two pieces that were separated look like suede. It's very pretty and looks soft. I used the same technique on the So Saffron circle in the middle. The flower is held together with a brad and adhered to the branch. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the wonderful weather God has granted to us (at least here in CT).

recipe:
paper: confetti white cs, blush blossom cs, bashful blue cs, so saffron cs, pretty in pink cs, chocolate chip cs, retired cs (the leaves)
ink: regal rose
extras: big shot, elegant bouquet embossing folder, two-step bird punch, scallop circle punch, so saffron brad

Easter Blessings

This is one of the cards we made last night for my monthly Make-N-Take. We used the Abundant Hope stamp set from the occasions catalog on watercolor paper. I love the softness of using the water color crayons with the Aqua Painter. The stazon ink gives the image a crisp look and will not smear when you apply the Aqua Painter.
recipe for this card:
ink: stazon brown, regal rose (sponged around sides)
paper: brocade blue cs, regal rose cs, apricot appeal textured cs, water color paper
extras: bold brights water color crayons, scallop trim border punch

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day!

Vintage Emboss resist

I made this card last night after I received the March newsletter from Sandy Hoefakker. She had a similar card design using the Vintage Vogue Stamp Set with the emboss resist technique. I had so much fun making this card. I'm sending it to my brother and his wife for their 5th wedding anniversary.
supplies:
paper: very vanilla cs, soft suede textured cs, razzleberry lemonade dsp
ink: crushed curry, close to cocoa, soft suede
accessories: versa mark, clear embossing powder, chocolate chip taffeta ribbon, Firestone circle brad, sponge
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day,
Melissa
